hagiology|hægɪˈɒlədʒɪ| [f. Gr. ἅγιο-ς holy + -λογια discourse: see -logy.] The literature that treats of the lives and legends of saints; also, by extension, of great men or heroes; a work on the lives and legends of the saints.
