gymnadenia|dʒɪmnəˈdiːnɪə| [mod.L. (see quot. 1813), f. Gr. γυµνός naked, bare + ἀδεν-, ἀδήν gland + -ia.] A terrestrial orchid of the genus so called, which includes G. conopsea, the fragrant orchid, native to Britain.
