† ˈgyesite Obs. rare—1. [ad. med.L. giezīta (St. Bernard), f. Giezi, the L. (Vulg.) form of Heb. יז{hebcheth}י{hebgimel} Gehazi. Cf. the deriv. giesetrye.] One who commits the sin of Gehazi (2 Kings v), i.e. who asks or accepts money in return for spiritual things.
