alcoholysis, n. Chem.|ælkəˈhɒlɪsɪs| [ad. F. alcoolyse (coined by A. Haller 1906, in Compt. Rend. CXLIII. 657): see alcohol n., -lysis.] Decomposition of a compound by reaction with an alcohol.
