grindcore, n. Brit. |ˈgrʌɪndkɔː|, U.S. |ˈgraɪn(d)ˌkɔ(ə)r| [‹ grind n.1 + -core comb. form.] A style of fast, harsh-sounding rock music, combining elements from heavy metal and punk rock, and typically incorporating loud, distorted noise as a musical effect.
