† ˈgravidate, v. Obs. rare. [f. L. gravidāt-, ppl. stem of gravidāre to burden, f. gravidus gravid; see -ate3.] a. intr. To be gravid or pregnant. b. trans. To make heavy, make gravid. Hence ˈgravidated ppl. a., pregnant.
