rectal, a. Anat. and Med.|ˈrɛktəl| [f. rect-um + -al1.] Of or belonging to the rectum. rectal gland, a gland that excretes into the rectum; esp. in cartilaginous fishes, a gland that excretes salt so as to maintain the osmotic balance.
