[‹ the name of Henri Gouraud, French computer scientist (b. 1944), who devised the model and algorithm (published in 1971 in IEEE Trans. on Computers C-20 623-9).] attrib. In computer graphics: designating or relating to a method of modelling the illumination of objects in order to simulate the effects of light and shade across their surface. Esp. in Gouraud shading.
