gourami|ˈgʊərəmɪ, gʊəˈrəmɪ| Also goramy, gouramy. [ad. Mal. gurāmī.] A large freshwater food fish, Osphronemus goramy, of the family Anabantidæ, native to south-east Asia; also, any of various smaller members of the family, freq. kept in aquaria.
