A hydrous uranyl molybdate, UO2MoO4.4H2O, found as monoclinic and orthorhombic, usu. dark-coloured, crystals.
1953P. F. Kerr in Rocks & Minerals XXVIII. 480/1 The name ‘umohoite’ is given to the mineral by combining the chemical symbols U, Mo, H, and O with the mineral suffix ‘ite’. 1980Mineral. Abstr. XXXI. 82/2 Umohoite from Shinkolobwe, Shaba, Zaïre.., is regarded as a magnesian variety: dark green to black, 0·65% Mg, ortho⁓rhombic... Two other varieties are described. |
