Airey, n.|ˈɛərɪ| [The name of Sir Edwin Airey (1878–1955), of William Airey & Son Ltd., a Leeds engineering company.] Used attrib. (esp. in Airey house) with reference to a system of constructing houses from precast concrete sections, which was devised by Airey in the 1920s.
