glossic, a. and n.|ˈglɒsɪk| [f. Gr. γλῶσσα tongue, language + -ic.] Applied by A. J. Ellis to a phonetic system of spelling invented by him in which each letter or digraph represents the sound which it most commonly expresses in English. Usually absol. as n.
