1941R. Weindling in Phytopathology XXXI. 991 The principal purpose of this article is to present data on factors determining production, stability, and activity of the crystalline Gliocladium toxin (gliotoxin)... The term ‘gliotoxin’ has been suggested by J. R. Johnson. 1944Nature 25 Nov. 667/2 Strains of Trichoderma viride produce gliotoxin, and..it is extremely probable that the fungus used by Weindling was not G[liocladium] fimbriatum, but was a Trichoderma as he originally supposed. 1953Pratt & Dufrenoy Antibiotics (ed. 2) xiv. 286 Some antibiotics (actidione and gliotoxin, for example)..are too toxic for systemic chemotherapy in man. 1970Nature 18 July 300/2 T. viride may retard the development of other fungi by producing the antibiotic gliotoxin or viridin. |
