giardiasis, n. Med.|dʒɪɑːˈdaɪəsɪs| [f. *giardia n. + -iasis.] Infection of the gut with the flagellate protozoan Giardia lamblia, often causing diarrhoea, flatulence, and other symptoms of malabsorption.
