geelbek S. Afr. (ˈgiːlbɛk, ‖ ˈxɪəlbɛk) Also geelbec, geelbeck. [Afrikaans, f. geel yellow + bek mouth, beak.] 1. A marine fish, Atractoscion æquidens, of the family Sciænidæ, which has bright yellow edges to jaws and gill-cover and is found off the southern coasts of Africa and also of Australia, where it is called teraglin.
