Gammexane|gæˈmɛkseɪn, ˈgæməkseɪn| Also gammexane. [f. gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane, the systematic chemical name.] The proprietary name of an isomer of benzene hexachloride used as an insecticide. The proprietary term was re-registered as Gammexan in 1951 (Trade Marks Jrnl. 3 Oct., p. 920).
