trondhjemite Petrogr.|ˈtrɒndheɪmaɪt| [ad. G. trondhjemit (V. M. Goldschmidt 1916, in Skrifter udgivna af Vidensk. i Christiania (Matem.-Naturv. Klasse) No. 2. 77), f. Trondhjem (now Trondheim), name of a city in western Norway: see -ite1.] Any leucocratic tonalite, esp. one in which the plagioclase is oligoclase.
