trombiculid, a. (and n.)|trɒmˈbɪkjʊlɪd| [a. mod.L. family name Trombiculidæ, f. generic name Trombicula (A. Berlese Acari Nuovi (1905) IV. 155), f. Trombi-dium (see trombidiid a. and n.) + -culus: see -id3.] Of or pertaining to a mite of the family Trombiculidæ, which includes several species having parasitic larvæ which cause or transmit disease in man and other mammals. Also as n., a mite of this kind.
