Trombe2 Archit. (trɒmb, ‖ trɔ̃b) The name of Felix Trombe, 20th-c. Frenchman, used attrib. and in conjunction with that of his collaborator J. Michel to designate a masonry wall of a kind designed by him, having glass sheeting fixed a small distance in front of it so as to absorb solar radiation, and usu. ventilated internally to release the heat into the building.
