triplite Min.|ˈtrɪplaɪt| [ad. Ger. triplit (Hausmann, 1813), f. Gr. τριπλοῦς threefold, in reference to its three cleavages: see -ite1.] A phosphate of iron and manganese (often containing fluorine), of a brown or blackish colour, with cleavage in three directions mutually at right angles.
