fundiform, a. Anat.|ˈfʌndɪfɔːm| [ad. mod.L. fundiform-is (A. Retzius 1841, in Arch. f. Anat., Physiol. und wiss. Med. 499, translating G. schleuderförmig shaped like a sling), f. L. funda sling: see -form.] fundiform ligament: a ligament having the shape of a sling; spec. (a) a ligament on the front of the ankle which encloses the tendons of two extensor muscles of the leg; (b) a ligament which forms a loop enclosing the root of the penis and partly supports the weight of the latter.
