‖ agger|ˈædʒə(r)| [L. agger, f. agger-ĕre (see aggest).] A mound; esp. the earthen mound or rampart of a camp, formed by the earth excavated from the ditch; a technical term of Roman Antiquities, extended to similar ancient works.
