‖ treillis|ˈtrɛljiː, treji| Also (3 Anglo-L. treyliz), 8 trellis. [mod.F. treillis. Orig. the same word as trellis, OF. treliz, L. *trilīcium, f. trilīx, -līcem, the original sense of which it closely preserves. See trellis.] A stout or coarse kind of cloth; in later use, buckram, sacking (‘toile grossière pour sacs, vêtements de travail’, Hatz.-Darm.; see also Littré s.v. senses 5, 6). See also trailye.
