agamous, a.|ˈægəməs| [f. L. agam-us a. Gr. ἄγαµ-ος unmarried (f. ἀ priv. + γάµος marriage) + -ous.] lit. Unmarried: hence Biol. Having no (distinguishable) sexual organs; asexual. In Bot. cryptogamous is now more commonly used.
