fortunately, adv.|ˈfɔːtjʊnətlɪ| [f. fortunate a. + -ly2.] In a fortunate manner; by or with good fortune, happily, luckily, successfully. In mod. use often qualifying the whole sentence, intimating that the fact stated is fortunate.
