单词 recche
释义 I. recche, reche, v. Obs.
Forms: 1 reccan, reccean, 3 ræcchen, recchen, rechen, 4 rachen; 3 reache, 3–4 recche, 4 richche, 4–5 reche. pa. tense 1 reahte, 1, 3 rehte, 3 ræhte. pa. pple. 1 ᵹereaht, 2 ireht, 3 iraht.
[Comm. Teut.: OE. recc(e)an = OS. rekkian (MDu. recken, Du. rekken), MLG. recken (hence Da. række, Sw. räcka), OHG. recchan (G. recken), ON. rekja, Goth. rakjan (in comb. ufrakjan):—OTeut. *rakjan, prob. related to Gr. ὀρέγειν, L. regĕre, por-rigĕre.
The original sense of the word, retained in Du. rekken, G. recken to stretch, reach, is not prominent in OE.; how far it existed in ME. is not quite clear, as the pa. tense and pa. pple. of recche, reche cannot well be distinguished from those of reach, but it is possible that ratch v. and retch v. may partly represent both recche and reach.]
