† forˈjure, forejure, v. Obs. [a. OF. forjure-r = med.L. forisjurāre, really two distinct words: (1) f. for-, for- prefix3 + jurer:—L. jurāre to swear; (2) f. med.L. foris prep. outside + jūra laws, rights.] 1. trans. To forswear; to abandon, abjure, quit.
