Tragulus, dim. of tragus, Gr. τράγος goat.] A quadruped of the genus Tragulus, or of the family Tragulidæ of ruminants, found in India and Java, resembling small hornless deer; a chevrotain. So ˈtragulid, one of the Tragulidæ; ˈtraguline a., belonging to the Tragulina; also applied to a group of goat-like antelopes including the steenbok, Nanotragus tragulus; ˈtraguloid a., akin in form to the Tragulidæ; n. a member of this group.
