trabeated, a. Arch.|ˈtreɪbiːeɪtɪd| Also trabiated. [f. as prec. + -ed1.] Constructed with beams; having beams or long squared stones as lintels and entablatures, instead of using the arch; covered with a beam or entablature, as a doorway. trabeated architecture is opposed to arcuated, arched, or vaulted. trabeated ceiling, a flat ceiling sustained by beams, by which it is divided into compartments, as distinguished from a vaulted ceiling.
