‖ tonadilla|tɒnaˈdiːjə| [Sp., dim. of tonada tune, song.] A light operatic interlude of the mid-eighteenth to early-nineteenth cent., orig. forming an intermezzo between the acts of a serious play or opera, but later performed independently.
