Timurid, a. and n.|ˈtɪmjʊrɪd| [f. the personal name Timur (see below) + patronymic suff. -id.] A. adj. Descended from Timur Lenk (see Tamerlane, Tamburlaine); of or pertaining to the Turkic dynasty which ruled in Central Asia after the death of Timur in 1405 until 1506. B. n. A descendant of Timur Lenk; a member of the Timurid dynasty.
