felsic, a. Min.|ˈfɛlsɪk| [f. feldspar + lenad (= feldspathoid) + silica + -ic.] Of or pertaining to such light-coloured minerals as the feldspars, the feldspathoids, quartz, and muscovite, or to rocks containing a high proportion of these or similar minerals.
