‖ tierras, n. pl. Mining. U.S.|ˈtjerras| [Sp. tierras earths, pl. of tierra earth:—L. terra.] Pulverulent ore, spec. of quicksilver, mingled with sand and earthy matter; in Mexico, inferior pulverulent ores generally. Also attrib., as tierras-furnace, tierras-ore.
