tiarella|tɪəˈrɛlə| [mod.L. (Linnæus Dissertatio Botanica qua Nova Plantarum Genera (1751) 29), f. L. tiara turban + dim. suffix -ella.] A small perennial herb of the genus of this name, belonging to the family Saxifragaceæ, native to North America and Asia, and bearing basal, lobed leaves and clusters of small white or reddish flowers.
