thetatron Nucl. Physics.|ˈθiːtətrɒn| Also Thetatron. [f. theta + -tron.] A fusion reactor employing a theta pinch in which the plasma is compressed axially by causing the current in the coils, and hence the axial magnetic field, to increase suddenly.
