L. excarnificāt- ppl. stem of excarnificā-re to tear to pieces, f. ex- intensive + carnificāre to cut in pieces, f. carnifex executioner: see carnifex.] trans. a. To torment, torture, rack. b. To do the office of an executioner upon.
