†1. trans. To write or copy out. (More commonly exscribe.) Obs.
1558in Picton L'pool Munic. Rec. (1883) I. 30 An old book of Precedences which was escribed, extracted out of the elder Precedences of the town.
2. Math. To describe (a circle) so as to touch one side of a triangle exteriorly, and the productions of the other two sides. (Cf. exscribe.) Hence eˈscribed ppl. a.
