epipharynx Zool.|ɛpɪˈfærɪŋks| [f. epi- 1 + pharynx b.] In insects, a membranous lining (see quot. 1826); esp. in Diptera, a piercing organ (see quot. 1897); also in Arachnida, a chitinous plate (see quot. 1909).
