epichordal, a. Anat.|ɛpɪˈkɔːdəl| [f. epi- + chord + -al1.] Situated upon or about the intercranial part of the notochord: applied to certain segments of the brain.
[a. G. epichordal (C. Gegenbaur Untersuchungen zur vergleichenden Anat. d. Wirbelsäule bei Amphibien Reptilien (1862) v. 22): see epi-, chordal a.] Situated, originating, or occurring on the dorsal side of the notochord. Cf. perichordal adj. s.v. peri-.
