ephyra, ephyrula Zool.|ˈɛfɪrə, ɛˈfɪrjʊlə| [mod.L. (F. Peron 1809, in Ann. du Muséum d'Hist. naturelle XIV. 354), f. Gr. Ἐϕύρα, Ionic -η, L. Ephyrē, name of a Nereid and of an Oceanid. Ephyrula is a diminutive.] A larval jellyfish, after separation from the scyphistoma.
