enveil, v.|ɛnˈveɪl| Also 6 enveile, envele. [f. en-1 + veil n. Cf. OF. envoiler.] trans. To cover with a veil, place a veil upon (e.g. a woman when received into a religious order). Also transf. and fig. to shroud as with a veil.
