entamœba|ˌɛntəˈmiːbə| Also U.S. entameba. [mod.L. entamoeba (Casagrandi and Barbagallo 1897, in Ann. d'Igiene Sperimentale VII. 163), f. ento- + amœba.] A member of a genus of amœbas so called, including several species parasitic on vertebrates.
