taupata N.Z.|ˈtaʊpətə| [a. Maori.] An evergreen shrub or small tree, Coprosma repens, of the family Rubiaceæ, native to New Zealand, and bearing shiny leaves and clusters of small white flowers followed by orange-red berries.
