Tauchnitz|ˈtaʊknɪts, ˈtaʊxnɪts| The name of Christian Bernhard, Baron von Tauchnitz (1816–95), publisher of Leipzig, used attrib. and absol. with reference to volumes in the Collection of British and American Authors, a series begun by him in 1841 for sale on the continent.
