Hungarian tárogató.] A Hungarian woodwind instrument with a conical bore, orig. a double-reeded instrument resembling a shawm, but in the 1880s reconstructed with a single reed and fitted with keys. (Now obsolescent in Hungary, and treated as a historical national instrument.)
