Taranchi, n. and a.|təˈrɑːntʃɪ| Also Taranji. [ad. Jagatai Taranči, lit. ‘farmer’.] A. n. a. (A member of) a people of mixed Turkoman and Iranian descent inhabiting the Ili basin region of Kazakhstan. b. The Turkic language of these people. B. adj. Of, pertaining to, or designating the Taranchi.
