ravishment|ˈrævɪʃmənt| Also 5–6 rauisshe-, 6 rauysshe-, rauishe-, etc. [ad. OF. ravissement (14th c.): see ravish v. and -ment.] †1. The act of carrying off a person; in ravishment of ward or ravishment de gard, the taking away of a ward; also, the writ issued in consequence of this. Obs.
