† ˈtallier Cards. Obs. Now only in Fr. form tailleur |tɑjœr|. Also 8 talliere, -ieur. [Agent-n. from tally v.3, and from F. tailler to deal (at cards).] In rouge-et-noir and similar card-games, the name of the dealer or banker.
