ecotourist, n. Brit. |ˈiːkəʊˌtʊərɪst|, |ˈɛːkəʊˌtʊərɪst|, U.S. |ˈɛkoʊˌtərəst|, |ˈikoʊˌtərəst|[see also tourist n.] [‹ eco- comb. form + tourist n., after ecotourism n.] A tourist who visits areas of ecological interest (typically exotic and often threatened natural environments), esp. to help conservation efforts and observe wildlife; a participant in ecotourism.
