A dowel or peg for connecting the felloes of the wheels of gun-carriages.
1721in Bailey. 1753Chambers Cycl. Supp., Duledge, in gunnery, a peg of wood which joins the ends of the six fellows, which form the round of the wheel of a gun-carriage; and the joint is strengthened on the outside of the wheel by a strong plate of iron, called the Duledge plate. |
